Janelle Monáe spent her Easter holiday at the White House performing for the First Family. The Grammy-nominated singer joined President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their daughters at the 134th annual White House Easter Egg Roll, entertaining more than 35,000 people on the South Lawn.
“HUGE THANK YOU 2 The First Family for having me & my family here,” tweeted Janelle. The President is a fan of the 26-year-old Kansas native. “Janelle and her team are incredibly talented,” he said after she rallied for him at a recent campaign event in Chicago. With New York Fashion Week finally kicked off, Janelle Monàe made a classy red carpet appearance at the annual amFar New York City gala at the Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday night. The charity event was hosted by actress Sarah Jessica Parker and Ms. Monae hit the stage to perform a few of her songs.
amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.
