    Karl Lagerfeld is talking in this interview about his personality, his work and his inspirations.

    He says that he wants to follow the trends of the period by going quicker and anticipating them. He describes Janelle Monae as the “anointed of 'Prince'” and “heiress of 'James Brown.'” According to Karl Lagerfeld, she is the "new revelation."

    He thinks she is fantastic, and is very proud about the fact that she dresses just like him. He mentions, “She told me that I was the one who inspired her, which is so flattering! Such a young woman inspired by me for her look. There is no other word more flattering than this.”
