Another ArchAndroid Inspired Poem: destiny's defect

Inspired by the themes in Janelle Monaé's work, I explored how a robot might experience love. From her, I take the idea of prohibited robo-human love and the idea of "disassembly," but the rest is my own hypothesis and interpretation. I just thought this community, which obviously believes in what Monaé represents, might enjoy and understand this. :)

    destiny’s defect

    rust ruins me
    oxidized on my exoskin like
    never healing human hematomas
spread like tectonic plates over my plated

destiny’s defect

rust ruins me
oxidized on my exoskin like
never healing human hematomas
spread like tectonic plates over my plated exterior
continents across my components
a map of my disastrous
escape from disassembly.

i was hers
the way my tank tightened in her presence
3076 bolts squeaking like the “butterflies” in her “tummy”
illegal and
in love.

our tale of taboo romance
tumbled into reality
a nested future deleted.

i’ll see her in flesh
soon
